The Stroudsburg Boys and Girls Basketball Programs are collaborating to offer co-ed youth basketball clinics, aimed at introducing elementary school students to the sport while raising funds during NCAA March Madness. These clinics, running from February 19th to March 16th, will focus on foundational skills and introduce organized full court play, providing a structured environment for young players to learn and grow.
Program Overview:
Total Clinics: 8 clinics, with students sorted into two co-ed groups post registration and skill evaluation.
Skill Clinics: Focus on early fundamental basketball skills like learning to dribble, pass, and shoot while having fun.
Game Play Clinics: Focus on teaching game play through basic rules, team concepts, and sportmanship, with restrictions to encourage confidence and proper defense.
Coaches and Equipment:
Coaches: Volunteers from the Boys and Girls basketball programs. Each group will have at least one coach to guide them at each clinic.
Equipment: Junior size basketballs 27.5' (size 5) will be provided for skills clinics. Students will play on a 8'.5" basket height to encourage the building of proper fundamentals. Athletic clothing including supportive sneakers and a personal water bottle are recommended.
Eligibility and Registration:
Open to: First 40 boys and girls in 1st - 4th grades who register. All students must attend the Stroudsburg Area School District.
Registration: Confirmed via email. You will receive an enrollment email within 12-24 hours. Registering to particpate means that you are committing to attend as many of the clinics as possible. Clinics are not offered on an individual basis.
Cost to Participate:
Fee: $75 per student, covering all costs with any proceeds benefiting the Stroudsburg basketball booster clubs.
Payment options include cash, check, or Venmo. Checks should be made payable to Stroudsburg Basketball.
Payment will be accepted by the clinic director at the first clinic.
Sessions and Venue:
Sessions: Two sessions per clinic date, with a maximum of 20 students per session for individual instruction. Session 1 is between 6:00 - 6:50 pm. Session 2 is between 7:00 - 7:50 pm.
Venue: All clinics will be held at the Stroudsburg Junior High School.

Grouping: Students will be divided into session 1 (Beginner) or session 2 (Intermediate).
